Yay for Phuket

ALoHa!!

I'm back from my Phuket trip. Short but extremely fruitful trip. And I'm immensely exhausted right now.. But my eyes are just not closing yet.

Highs and lows of the trip:
- I overcame my fear of the ocean and went snorkelling !
- I took a picture with a big fat python.
- I didn't shop much.
- I didn't parasail.

Hahaha..

Day 1:
Arrived at Phuket, stayed at Bel Aire Resort. It's a new hotel and pretty nice! The room is twice the size of a normal hotel room. It's really convenient to get to Patong Beach and also the city/shopping area. Great views of bapoks from my room's corridor. LOL..
Ate dinner at this little restaurant. The tom yum was really nice but super hot. There's a reason that big bucket of ice cubes was placed right beside me.. Haha..

Day 2:
Went on a Phuket city tour. Best part of the day was the Gems Gallery. It's the World's Biggest Jewellery Store. And damn right it lived up to its name. Coz it's damn huge!! Hahaha.. Lots of ang-mohs in sight, they came to Phuket specifically to go to the Gems Gallery. They're genuine diamonds and stones placed at reasonable prices. Reason it's cheap is because the ingredients are imported but they're made by the gallery itself. So it's kind of like a gems warehouse. I got a diamond necklace for less than a hundred. Courtesy of my dad. Lol.. Shall wear it on Weiling's wedding.

Day 3:
The highlight of the trip! Snorkelling! OMG we thought it was gonna be near the seashore kind of thing where u can just stand and all the fishes will come around you. But guess what?? The cruise stopped in the middle of the ocean and like "Ok snorkelling time!" And I was like 0_0.... No.way.
Hahahahhaha.. My mum chickened out but I decided to jump in anyways. Oh my god it was scary. I think I spent most of my time trying to stay as close to the boat as possible than looking at the little fishes. I swore I would never step into the ocean and I finally did. So scarryyyy!!! I can't swim for goodness sake and I was trying so hard to stay afloat (although we had life jackets on.. LOL). And we had to breathe using the snorkelling masks and it was so hard. Not easy to breathe from your mouth when u are so used to breathing from your nose. At our second snorkelling stop, omg silly me drifted away like 100 metres away from the boat. Coz I can't swim so I didn't know how to direction myself in the water. And I was just happily looking at the fishes underwater with my snorkel mask and when i looked up I was like "EH?????" The boat seemed small and then I realised how far I was! Of course I started to panic like nobody's business. And my life jacket's buckle started to snap. Thank god the snorkelling guy saved my ass and exchanged jackets with me. My panic state when he removed my life jacket in the water and I had to hold on to dear life, is another story. And yes I was the last one to board the cruise coz I had to be saved.

Hahahaha.. So embarassing. But it was fun!!! Like a whole new refreshing experience for me. Not to mention I was constantly pulling at my sister's life jacket hoping she would pull me along when she swims. Haha.. Oopsy.

We landed at Phi Phi Island for lunch. Stuff there are expensive so I ended up buying only one dress.

My mum and sister went to trim their hair at the salon below our hotel and it was run by a bapok. Haha.. She/he was so funny!

Bapok: You have boyfriend?
Me: Haha..No.
Bapok: No? I lady-man I have boyfriend!
Me and sister: Hahaahahhahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Bapok: He from Switzerland. He old man.
Me and sister: LOL!

The conversation went on and I was surprised at how open bapoks are with themselves and their sexuality. In Thailand. Lol.. But they're nice people. Not the kind that would give other girls killer-stares.

Day 4:
Highlight of the day, snake show at Patong! "Johnny never die!' Hahaha... It was an interesting snake tour. I hate snakes they're gross but the show was informational. Thumbs up to Johnny for kissing the snakes! The show was overall funny and very fun. I took a picture with a big fat python. I didn't want to at first coz it was damn huge and like eew. Hahahaa.. But the guy was trying to convince me "it's ok! nevermind! won't bite!" Hahaha.. ok what the hell so i took a picture with it around my neck. Grossest part was the snake started to twirl itself around my leg! I was eee-ing and aaa-ing and the guy went like "Ok bye bye!"

O_O...

Of course he got the snake off in the end.

Oh and Fanfan went onstage with the snakes. The Johnny guy carried Fanfan in his arms and brought him face to face with the snake on stage. LOL.. And guess what Fanfan did? He touched the snake and then PINCHED it. O_O.. I think he's used to grabbing things the pinching way. Hahaha! Fanfan our hero!!

Oh and one more thing. I found out that those musical snake charmers are fake. With a big F.
The snake guide told us that snakes have no ears and are deaf. The only reason the snakes move is not because of the music, but because the guy's head is going sideways-n-upwards. Snakes react to motion, not sound. Lol.. Snakes + music = bullshit!

Ok now I'm feeling a bit sleepy. 3hr30mins to sleep. Wish me luck in class tomorrow! Zzzzzz...

PS: No pictures yet. Next time.
